    “It's just a hotel”

    It's just a downtown hotel, their pictures made it seem more like a resort, but it's just a basic downtown hotel. There was a lot of road noise from the highway at night, the bathroom was dated and dingy and VERY small.

    “Great hotel”

    Very much enjoyed our hotel stay. The breakfast is fabulous, great staff, great service and very nice and comfortable accommodations. Highly recommend Barcelo and will plan to stay again. Everything was easy to manage.

    “Worst Hotel Stay Ever”

    Hotel room had strongly floral scented sheets, bedding and towels. Both my husband and I had allergic reactions to the strong smell. My face and throat swelled up. We complained to the front desk during out first night and also to Expedia. We had miserable first night and had almost no sleep. The next day they changed out our sheets and bedding. They washed it in only hot water with no detergent. We still had a problem with the strongly scented floral towels during our entire stay. They were never able to fix the problem. Also, we had a leaky air conditioner-room #404. One night, my husband got up to go to the bathroom, slipped and nearly fell from the large puddle that he walked through.. We complained about it, but continued to have leaks for several night before it was finally fixed. The hotel breakfast has a lot of options to choose from, but we kept getting sick from eating it. We think it may been from the water in the food or in the coffee, juice and milk. We both had stomach issues during our entire stay there. We enjoyed walking through the garden area of the hotel and viewing the art on the mezzanine floor. The pool was nice, but needed to be cleaned . They were lots of dead insects and leaves in the pool. We had to order room service on our first night there because the hotel restaurant closed at 6pm. I never heard of a restaurant closing so early. We ordered 2 pizzas from room service at a cost of $9 each. They had too much cheese, too little sauce and were very greasy.. The location of this hotel is terrible. The closest restaurant is over 2 miles away. If you rent a car, you will be instantly stuck in a traffic jam anytime you leave the hotel. Traffic is just terrible. We left most days by 5:30am to avoid the worst rush hour traffic, but we still got caught in some traffic. I would advise staying in a hotel in a town outside of San Jose to avoid traffic jams.

    “Wonderful Experience”

    While participating in a tour of Costa Rica, my wife and I started our journey at the Barcelo San Jose. This is a beautiful hotel with a pool, bars, and a garden to peruse. The staff here were very helpful and friendly.

    وقد مكثنا ليلة واحدة بالقرب من المطار. إنه يحتوى على خدمة نقل مجانية التى جاءت فى الوقت المناسب ملائم. الفندق نظيف حديقة جميلة. الغرف قديم خدمة الاتصال اللاسلكي بالإنترنت عبر تقنية واي فاي هو رهيبة. الخدمة في البار/المطعم أبطأ على طعام سيء. بل إنه لم يكن مزدحم ولكن انتقالنا لوقت كان طعمها، لا يوجد شيء جيد. الإفطار كثير الأصناف ومليء..

    “Great hotel”


    Very much enjoyed our hotel stay. The breakfast is fabulous, great staff, great service and very nice and comfortable accommodations. Highly recommend Barcelo and will plan to stay again. Everything was easy to manage.
