    “Hotel Gave Keys to Preoccupied Room and I Saw a Naked Man Against my Will. Terrible Customer Service”

    Royal Hideaway Corales Suites 645398688 While this hotel is gorgeous and I had a great time in Tenerife, I cannot say the same about their customer service. I went with my boyfriend for the New Year’s holiday. We picked this hotel based on the stellar reviews we kept seeing here on Trip Advisor. Apparently they are great service when they don’t make mistakes. But when they do they are terrible at remdiating, which is very problematic especially if you are traveling internationally. There were immediately problems from the moment we stepped in. The receptionist had put the wrong info on our reservation and almost made us book a week instead of our 4 days. When we explained this was not the case the receptionist had a snobby attitude and made us show them proof that our reservations were not the wrong information they had put on it. When we showed them that THEY were wrong, they promised an upgrade. We took the keys they gave us and to our shock and dosgust.. opened the room to find that it was PREOCCUPIED and a naked man who was just as startled and angry as us in the room. Mind you we had taken all of our luggage up the stairs. Now we had to take all of our luggage back down, spend another hour while reception tried to sort out THEIR mistake, only to end up at the original room we booked without any perks to make up for their terrible mistake. Then, to add insult, the reception desk was less than friendly the remainder of the stay, likely embarrassed by the mistake they had made. Our fridge was never restocked during our stay, and the maids were extra loud in the morning (9am). I emailed after the trip and they did respond acknowledging they had made a mistake. Which would have been fine if they offered to at least compensate a portion of our stay, but after I emailed explaining the situation they offered us instead a 2 night stay at their hotel to be used within the year. We live in the United States, Tenerife is NOT a quick or cheap trip. We picked Tenerife because it was a place we had never been to. I explained this to Fernando, who is the director / manager at this hotel. After I replied letting him know we would rather have monetary compensation, they went quiet on the communication end for 4 days. Incidentally, they only responded after I initially posted this review. They have since offered 25% of our hotel stay, despite it being an incredibly traumatic experience as a woman. A true 5 star hotel would have at least offered half of our stay as monetary compensation. Even more aggravating is how much effort I have has to put in just to get them to be responsive in email. TBD if they’ll actually pay the less than bare-minimum amount they are offering to credit back, will update this post once the hotel has actually resolved. WARNING. If the hotel makes a mistake or does you wrong their customer service is lacking. Come out to this hotel for the restaurants only (which are stellar) and stay somewhere else. People pay a lot of money for hotels for the experience, which includes customer service. Not worth the 5 star money they are asking to deal with their management when they make a mistake!

    “Fantastic hotel”

    Everything about our stay in this hotel was brilliant. Both the pools in the adults only area are really nice although our favourite was the rooftop pool which provided stunning views. The staff are all super friendly and really professional, special mention to Antonio in the Maresia bar on the roof who made us some amazing cocktails in the master class. We ate in the Starfish restaurant which was absolutely delicious, for the rest of our stay we tried the local restaurants in La Caleta, all brilliant. The rooms are spacious and the balconies provide really stunning views as well. We will definitely be coming back

    “Sensational place”

    Everything about this resort is 5 star. The suites are huge and beautifully furnished, everything has been thought of to make your stay perfect. The staff are fabulous & nothing is too much trouble. We stayed on a half board basis & the buffet breakfast & dinner catered for all tastes with meat & fish cooked to order. Lunch in the Starfish restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. I would thoroughly recommend without reservation and look forward to staying here again soon.

    “Absolutely wonderful hotel”

    We had a lovely stay for 9 nights with our eight month old baby. The suites were perfect and we spent a lot of time relaxing on our balcony. Great facilities and food. Hotel located perfectly in a nice area overlooking the sea. I can't recommend a stay here enough.

    “Luxury relaxation”

    We stayed in a self catering apartment and it was fantastic! It was great to have the mix of all the hotel amenities along with the self catering. I have to say that I never cooked dinner but enjoyed having a large fridge for drinks and snacks. The apartment was very spacious and had a large balcony, lounge, comfortable bed room and great bathroom. The heated pools were excellent along with the sumptuous loungers and attentive staff to ensure you had everything you needed. The location is perfect. Quiet enough but not far from the beach bar with live music for a fun lunch or a longer walk along the sea front or a shorter walk to the harbor. I enjoyed my stay so much I have booked a 2 bedroom apartment with a private pool in May and can’t wait to go back! It really is a great hotel with wonderful staff.
