    “Tennis courts were disappointing”

    We were sent to the Occidental to pay to enjoy their tennis courts. When we arrived, the staff didn't know what to do with us; apparently they don't have many people that play tennis there based on the condition of the court and net. We did complain about the condition but nothing was done about it. The concierge acted like it wasn't their issue even though we were paying to use the court. There is also construction going on right across from the court so it was even hard to hear. And the court is located at the front of the building so their was absolutely no view of anything inside the facility at all. We did use the restrooms to change clothes and they were always clean and tidy.

    “Great Staff, Terrible Food”

    All the staff we met were amazing! I had a perfect and relaxing prenatal massage by Lupita. The wait staff pool/beach side remembered my group and drink orders (Julio Larios, Eric, Miguel, Augustin Loeza, and Maria). Food was not good and bland. Very "Americanized", I took offense when I saw hot dogs in the beans. Room was mostly clean as our bathroom ceiling started to leak and you could see previous evidence of issues in the same spot (mold growth and staining). Bed and pillows are very comfy. Showers were hot. My biggest complaint is really the food.

    “Fantastic Vacation Destination”

    This vacation was our first all inclusive, and my first trip to Mexico. I have to say that this property and it's staff far exceeded our expectations. We opted for the Royal Level option and I'd strongly recommend it. From a dedicated concierge to free Wifi to an exclusive restaurant and bar with top-shelf liquor to an exclusive pool also with a bar featuring top-shelf liquor - it's well worth the extra cost. The property is beautiful and the beach and surrounding landscape are gorgeous. From the bellmen to the housekeeping staff, everyone was so friendly, hardworking, and accommodating. Special thanks to the Royal Level concierge Belen. She's amazing! The food was very good with a variety of restaurants. We enjoyed each that we dined at. Service was great! David in the buffet restaurant and Romeo in the Italian restaurant were excellent. The Royal Level restaurant was our favorite - and the staff was a big part of that. Thanks to the morning/day staff Tito, Yesinia, and Maria. The evening staff - Alberto, Ricardo, and Carlos (Charlie) - were so kind to us. They quickly became friends and made our meals so enjoyable. I'm grateful to have met these new amigos. The canopy beds - on the Royal Level pool and beach - were our favorite spot! Muchas gracias to our new friends Julio Larios and Augustin Loeza who were amazing. They anticipated our every need and truly made us feel like VIPs. I feel blessed to have met these gents and I'm so grateful for the great care they took of us.

    “Just Returned- Excellent Staff!”

    My wife and I literally just returned last night and I couldn't wait to make a review. First of all I need to mention 3 specific and outstanding staff. Erik Cerna from the pool was amazing! Never went without service or a drink in hand and was very attentive, going the extra mile to make sure we had whatever we needed. Next, David from Tokyo restaurant. David was the maitre d of the restaurant and was very welcoming and accommodating. When he learned it was our anniversary he went out of his way to make or experience awesome. He had special drinks made, a special dessert made and tended to our every need. Chef Christian of Tokyo was exceptional as well. At only 21 he is a great entertainer and excellent teppanyaki chef. Both of these people made the experience so great we went back to the same restaurant. Can't say enough about all 3 of these staff members! All that said, we had excellent service from all the staff including the awesome bartenders at the Olas pool bar, we are sorry we can't remember all the names but Carlos was there almost every day. I'd like to be honest and said that we tipped the staff for great service and throughout the stay. Not a lot, a few bucks here and there. Did that add to our great service? Probably but I saw people getting great service without tips but we tipped because we appreciated their service. They are adding on to the hotel so construction noise did occur. I will be honest and say that we were as far from the construction as possible so it didn't affect us unless we used the Royal Club pool, so we just avoided that. I do feel bad for anyone who had to endure that noise in their rooms. Speaking of room, as others reported they were a bit noisy. You could hear people walk by and even coughing in adjacent rooms. But we made it a week there with no major issue. Speaking of rooms, be aware that only club level rooms at the end of each building have balconies. If that is a deal breaker, then get one of those or look elsewhere. I would have liked one but it would not stop me from returning. Lastly, I think the Royal level upgrade is worth it. The ability to go to each restaurant as many times as you'd like is worth it by itself. But includes room service, personal concierge, upgraded liquor (if you care) and other amenities. It didn't cost much more and suggest paying it. Just like anywhere or anything, bad things happen to guests and we did speak to some who were not having great experiences (cold shower, wait for a room, etc.) but our personal experiences were amazing. We had no issues at all. We would return without question. Did I mention, AWESOME BEACH! We had heard that some beaches in the PV area are rocky but this particular beach for miles was awesome sand, warm water and awesome!. Yeah, it's the Pacific Ocean with waves, but certainly not dangerous or anything to avoid. Overall GREAT TRIP and thanks again to Erik Cerna, David, Christian, Carlos and all the staff!
