Golf enthusiasts will find a lot to love at Barceló Hotels throughout the world. There are  36 hotels with access to golf facilities, catering for all kinds of players, from scratch golfers to bogey players. For non-golfers there are plenty of fun activities to take part in at the hotel, while golf players have at their disposal some of the best courses in Spain, Mexico and Costa Rica, among others.

The Costa del Sol on the Mediterranean coastline is home to numerous golf courses that are easily accessible by guests of the Barceló Marbella hotel. The nearby Guadalmina Golf Club boasts two courses, one with eighteen holes and another with nine. Golfers can perfect their swing by hiring a golf instructor through the hotel.

There are five golf courses near the hotel to discover and enjoy, including El Paraiso that lies between La Concha mountain and the Mediterranean. At Los Naranjos, players wind their way through orange groves. Farther afield is the only links golf course in southern Europe: Alcaidesa Links.

Those looking for a world class course can head for Cádiz on the Atlantic coast. Barceló Montecastillo offers Green Fees at its own course with special rates for guests staying at the 5-star Barceló Montecastillo Golf. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, it has been named one of the best golf courses in Spain.

For groups with varying levels of skill, Barceló Costa Ballena Golf & Spa is a great golf resort. The Costa Ballena Ocean Golf Club is known for being a challenge for experts but forgiving for those who are learning the sport.

Another golf tourism destination is Manzanillo in Mexico. Guests at the Barceló Karmina will find Las Hadas, a spectacular course where the 18th hole is on an island next to the hotel. Just 45 minutes from the hotel, the 27-hole Isla Navidad course enchants players with views of mountains, meandering lagoons and the ocean. Twelve kilometres from the hotel, Corazon de Manzanillo is a private course set in sand dunes.

The beach at Barceló Ixtapa, located north of Acapulco, is adjacent to the Palma Real golf course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., great care has been taken to ensure a balance between native vegetation and the needs of golfers. The La Marina course is also located nearby. The hotel regularly has special offers on green fees.

Costa Rica is the site of the Barceló Tambor hotel, located on the Nicoya peninsula. The hotel partners with Los Delfines, which may well be the only course in the world where a flock of scarlet macaws shares the course with the golfers. The course is located just 1km away from the hotel. Guests of the Barceló Tambor hotel can visit and enjoy this service at an additional cost.

Barceló Bávaro Beach is an adults-only resort in the Dominican Republic that offers an 18-hole championship golf course that winds through a mangrove forest with 25 inland lakes. This beautifully maintained course was designed by the renowned Pete Dye and incorporates native plants around the greens and fairways.
