“not as good as youre led to belive”

i''ve been to a few places in three of the canary islands and never felt like ive needed to write a long review, however this place was a disappointment. Everything is chargeable! rated as a 4*, I can say our room was quite tired. ive never know in any hotel ,a cleaner that comes in and only makes the bed either, but here, that is all she did. she never once swept the floor, which had sand from the beach on despite us banging off what was possible. They charge you here for the safe too, never has anywhere else done this, its going to cost you 3 euros a day. work that out over a week then times it by how many rooms they have. They are literally making tens of thousands every week! The food : all I can say, its repetitive. And we actually aren't fussy eaters.Breakfast was the usual stuff and was quite ok. In such a small area there is no less than 3 salad bars, all the same, bread bar, cold meat/cheese, and the show cooking bland, usually pork every day, and some other meat, which is given out sparingly, enough for a small child ,kids bits, chips pizza ect every day, pasta everyday, odd stuff too like green beans at breakfast! it left a lot to be desired, , we were only there a week and were very bored, thankfully only hb. which brings me to the next complaint, everywhere else ive ever been on hb includes water and soft drinks with your evening meal, understandably not booze which is fair enough, however , this place does not even offer you a jug of water, they charge for bottle water. I personally think that is not on, as did other people we met. Surely water should come as standard? Funny thing is, they do have jugs of cold water in the mornings. My other gripe is the pool area. If you like being in a row of sardines, then this place is for you!. personally we like a little space, at least so we aren't virtually touching the next person/family, and are able to sit up with yr legs down to the side. Apparently someone told us that they added more beds this year as they've been here before. Awful. We ended up spending 10.50 euros a day for the beach just to have space. so take no notice of the pictures in the brochure, you will be disappointed if you want some chill time by the pool, unless of course that's you're thing. Oh and not forgetting, pool towels, yet another thing you have to spend money on, while most hotels give a card to redeem , here you part with cash, whilst you get it back, whats the point, get a card system in place like everywhere else. Lastly but not least, the manager sucks at his job. He has made rules that he contradicts every day. One evening I wore flipflops to dinner, under a maxi dress, couldn't really be seen, and anyway, it says nothing anywhere about them being banned. So while he stands there full of self importance every night, he has his staff picking people to pick on about this, to the point, a girl practically chased me to my table to tell me I couldn't wear them. I told her I weren't going to change them, and I noticed they only mentioned it to some people, and not others. I counted no less than 30 people wearing them that evening. I told her this and she went away. However, I decided to make a complaint at reception, I would have been ok with it, but being chased to my table was a step to far. reception agreed it was a silly rule, and rang him . His reply? "if she wants to talk to me tell her to come down". Surely as a "manager" you would think he would leave his station of "I'm important" and come upstairs? He also contradicts himself daily by having great big 4ft high boards around the pool saying no putting towels down and saving beds, yet every morning you see people running down by half 7 and doing just that. What does he do about it? nothing. So remove the boards then! most hotels will remove them if that is the rule. Apparently it takes a backbone to adhere to your own rules. So all in all, whilst it is a fairly nice hotel, but certainly not the best for the money, it lacks in other ways. I wouldn't stay there again, neither would our friends, although some people obviously like it, more suited to familys with kids I think ,not couples who want to chill a bit. cant fault the staff at reception or those waiting at dinner. It is a shame management think its more important to stand on parade in the entrance at dinner than to deal with complaints though. If a manager cant deal with the little things, is he a good manager?

    “Be careful of chicken”

Everything about this hotel was amazing apart from the food . It’s the same food warmed up at lunch and dinner, chicken was raw twice so didn’t eat at the hotel after that . Tui did nothing to help !!!!!!!

    “Speechless”

The hotel is amazing and I strongly recommend to get a room with sea view. The food is excellent, you always get fresh fruits and veggies. And please stop with the moaning, the staff is not there to kiss your feet.

    “A second visit”

Have just got back after a week at this hotel with the family. My husband and I stayed last November and loved it. The family are an age range from 16yrs to 65. Thank goodness they loved it as well. They all found plenty to do at the hotel and outside. Staff are very friendly. Food was good and enough choice for any fussy eater. I would honestly recommend this hotel to anyone.

    “Nice location”

Room 2305 had a nice view of the sea, pools and gardens on the third floor. It was called a Superior room and had tea/coffee making facilities that were replenished daily, along with slippers, robes and the usual shampoos etc. A safe was available, but had to be paid for. Bed was huge and a reasonable sized tv, even had Biritish news and some English channels. The food has been quite good, with lots of choice at breakfast and dinner and a snack bar with drinks, hot or cold food and cakes most of the day. Two large pools and plenty of sun beds, although, as usual they are bagged very early in the morning at prime spots, even ignoring the notices not to do so! Lots going on throughout the day for kids and adults to participate in with certificates handed in at night on the stage. If the beach is more your thing, it's a very safe one for children with gentle lapping waves and shallow in most parts. Can get windy though, so hang on to your sun beds or li lo as many can be seen, disappearing into the distance, carried by the wind! Outside entertainment in the evenings has been good on the whole and the hotel team work really hard during the day and some nights, putting on shows and games. The outside bar has a singer, Eddie Delaine , some nights who is excellent and also does some pre shows on the stage, before the main event. The hotel could do with more going on in the outside bar at night as an alternative to stage acts which you may have seen before, when staying two weeks. Nice long walks along the sea front ( or runs if your feeling energetic!) with a sea lion show to the left and a shopping centre to the right. Only went on one trip to the Oasis Zoo and can highly recommend it. The animal shows were fantastic and you can actually feed, camels! A really nice hotel with comfortable rooms, helpful staff and pleasant food. If the food had been a little spicey and there had been more going on in the night bar, I would have given it 5 stars.
