    “My stay”

Excellent clean spacious hotel. Just right for a relaxing time. The hotel was exactly as expected after going through a recent referbishment, some of the rooms had hot tubs on the balconies but not all. Very well equipped, with a small gym and a spa centre. Three bars to choose from. Overall an excellent hotel that I will recommend to family and friends. Will also return myself.

    “Birthday celebration”

We chose this hotel for a relaxing week to celebrate a special birthday and what a good choice it was. Great location, great food, 2 lovely pools and plenty of sun beds so always somewhere to relax. We had a junior suite with a spa bath on the balcony. The room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous shower.

    “Week in February”

Great stay. Taxi from airport 25euros and only takes 15 mins Our room was on 3rd floor with pool view. Bright and modern room with hot tub on balcony. Big comfortable bed, good shower, Lavazza coffee machine with free pods each day. We were halfboard, breakfast and dinner were buffet. Much better than your average european holiday buffet. We enjoyed the food everyday. Wine with meal not expensive about 12euros for bottle of wine, but they also do half bottles for 7.50euros. We ate lunch at pool bar 3 times in the week. Nice food, salads, toasted sandwiches etc all around 7-8euros. 0.5L Sangria 6.50euros. You can get more for your money outside hotel, but if you cant be bothered to leave the pool area it is a good spot to eat. Spa at hotel was excellent. Run by a lovely lady with perfect English (she is half english). Had a couples treatment, Valentine's special. Very nice facility, the indoor circuit with heated pool, sauna, steam room etc, very posh and high standard, really beautiful inside. Hotel is in a great spot, above the promenade. One flight or steps down to sports bar through door and you are there. You can walk in both directions for miles next to beach. Overall, excellent stay and nothing to fault, we had a very nice holiday.

    “A perfect winter escape”

A lovely hotel in a great location. The more time I spent at the hotel the more I loved it. Our room was quiet, with an uninspiring view, but it had evening sun. The staff on the whole were really lovely, there was one very grumpy waiter with a star tattoo by his ear, I think he is in the wrong job because he clearly is not a 'people person'. The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The entertainment man was chatty and friendly, but never seemed prepared to run the scheduled activities, even after we told him we wanted to aquagym he didn't bother, he just sat and chatted to clients. The food is excellent although one of the chefs tried to give me contaminated chicken. I have stayed in a better standard of accomodation, but I have never had just a great variety and quality of food. It tasted as good as it looked. I would stay again and recommend this hotel.

“Perfect adults only all inclusive for a real treat.”

We enjoyed a restful week here at Barcelo Teguise Beach in February 2017. Weather was mostly around 22 degrees plus. Fairly windy all round but easy to find places to shelter and soak up the sunshine. One overcast day which was still warm enough to walk out in shorts and vests, on that day we walked into Arrecife ( about 2 hours at a leisurely pace, quicker if you don't mistakenly walk down into the Puerto ! ) and a taxi back (10 Euros). Two pools, both fairly chilly at this time of year. The smaller one on the beach side is warmer but the surrounding area is windier. The smaller pool is an infinity style and if anyone gets in it, anyone at close range will get wet ! This pool also has jacuzzi jets and a very nice outlook over the sea. Lots of sun beds around both pools, quite tightly packed. The hotel maintains a policy of not leaving belongings out to save sunbeds and even has signs on tables in the restaurant to remind people, which we duly observed. However during our week, we saw many people ignore this and put their stuff on beds hours before they actually went to sit on them. The lifeguard who is supposedly the person who will remove any left articles patrols fairly frequently but during our week, we never saw him move any belongings on such vacant 'saved' beds. Food and drink is plentiful and of a very high standard. We came on an all inclusive package. It would be helpful if drinks menus could include some indication of what is and isn't available to all inclusive customers, as we are not trying to be tight by avoiding paying, it's just that we have already paid at point of booking. That said, pretty much anything we could ask for was included, cocktails, beer, wine, Cava, Irish coffees. Food choices are superb. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style, very extensive choices of meat, fish, vegetables, salads and more cheeses than I have ever seen in one restaurant. Some buffet food did not stay particularly hot, despite some lovely hot dinner plates. However there were plenty of alternative choices if you wished to avoid that station. Sushi and Asian corner, Healthy corner, hot and cold soups to choose from. Many choices of fruits, breads and desserts to choose from. As a vegetarian, separate spoons and clearer labelling would have been appreciated. Each station looked like an individual work of art. Presentational standards in this restaurant are exceptional. At lunch time food is served from a la carte menus in the Pool Bar 'Breeze' aptly named, which serves both pool areas with tables inside and out. A delicious selection of salads and light meals cooked to order. Down in the 'Champs' sports bar, burgers, pizzas, ribs and other dishes are available all day. For all inclusive guests these menus are available as lunch choices which was an enjoyable surprise having previously been in all inclusive packages with 3 x buffets a day ! Our personal choice was to remain pretty much in the bubble of our hotel and stay in and around the pool areas and Breeze bar as the Champs bar seemed a little less luxurious and more 'package holiday' style with sports screens playing and a darker atmosphere. But each to their own, no doubt some will enjoy this more. There was entertainment available there nightly but we preferred the lobby bar in the evenings. Champs opens out into the beachfront where there are many public bars, shops and restaurants which were surplus to our requirements as all inclusive guests. There are several beaches with sand on top of the volcanic black rock and crystal clear water. These beaches were being enjoyed by families. For me as a teacher of young children the attraction to Barcelo Beach was that the hotel is fully adults only. Having been to some that have adults only areas but with children in sight and sound, this truly adults only atmosphere provided the much needed switch off from little people. Much as I enjoy the sight and sound of little ones playing noisily in term time, not having to watch and worry about them around the pool, and at mealtimes etc was a real bonus. Communal areas are modern, freshly decorated with funky colours. Strangely every toilet seat we encountered was scratched, possibly something to do with cleaning processes or materials ? Otherwise a clean environment with lovely fragrant air freshener smells round every corner. Attention to detail of cleanliness and hygiene extended to staff using cutlery to 'serve' napkins instead of handling them. Only a shame some guests felt obliged to squeeze every roll in the bread basket before choosing the one they took and some putting their feet on tables in the restaurant, in sandals and bare foot ( ew! ) Our room 2089 had a Jacuzzi bath on the balcony which could be freshly filled to our chosen temperature as required and got full sun in the afternoons. There was also a large walk in shower in the room. We are a couple so this arrangement of shower and basin within the room was not a problem for us. The toilet is completely private to the room and out of view from the bed. The room was spacious and well equipped. The coffee machine can be exchanged for a kettle if you prefer. Bottled drinking water is available from the bars. There was quite a bit of noise from what sounded like trolleys in the kitchen or bar and this room is roadside but it did not affect the enjoyment of our stay, although on our last night Saturday 18th Feb we were kept awake by loud music till 3am but I am fairly sure this was from outside the hotel somewhere so there was not much that could be done about. The room was clean, towels changed upon request and additional toiletries if you should need them are apparently available from Reception. Even toothbrushes were provided ! There is a minibar which we did not need. We had to leave our credit card details at check in for any extras, such as this minibar which was disappointing as we didn't plan to have any. There was no wristband etc for all inclusive guests, we just had to give our room number each time we ordered anything. The complete highlight of this hotel has to be the staff team. Every single member of staff from room maids, to waiting staff, bar staff, Reception staff, every single one of them always had a smile and made a point of saying hola, Bueno's Dias and asking if they could get us anything. The pool areas are served by staff bringing drinks as required, approaching and asking if we wanted anything. Service with a smile seemed to be the minimum expectation from everyone at all times. Most staff seemed able to speak English, French and German at the drop of a hat and all did so with a delightfully cheerful manner. Nothing seemed too much trouble, no matter what time of day or night. This hotel provided the switch off and relax it was chosen for. Only a 30 minute transfer from Arrecife airport. With bars, shops, a pharmacy and a square with live music all within a minute's stroll the area itself is a nice place to stay. However this Barcelo Teguise Beach is a perfect bubble of tranquility for those wishing to escape the cold of homelands in their precious winter holidays. A must for teachers without children during school holidays. Do not confuse with other Barcelo hotels in Lanzarote which are probably lovely but maybe not adults only !
