Description
Experience the historic heart of Granada through a guided route that brings together some of the city’s most significant monuments and streets. This visit reveals how Granada evolved from its Nasrid past into one of Spain’s most important Renaissance cities.
The tour begins in the lively Plaza Bib-Rambla, one of the traditional gathering points in Granada’s old town. From there, you will continue through the historic centre towards the Alcaicería, the former silk market from the Muslim period. Its narrow passageways and small shops still preserve the atmosphere of the old Arab bazaars.
The route then leads to the remarkable Royal Chapel, the burial site of the Catholic Monarchs, Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand, alongside Joanna I and Philip the Handsome. During the visit, you will admire the Carrara marble mausoleums while learning about Granada’s key role in the final years of Al-Andalus and the beginning of a new chapter in Spanish history.
The experience continues inside the magnificent Granada Cathedral, regarded as one of the finest examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture. Its vast interior, elegant columns and decorative details reflect the importance Granada acquired after the Christian conquest.
Historic squares, monumental architecture and the atmosphere of the old commercial streets create a memorable journey through Granada’s artistic and cultural heritage.
