This half-day excursion from Pamplona explores some of the most iconic landmarks of historical Navarra. We begin at a viewpoint in the foothills of the Pyrenees with views of the Yesa Reservoir, a landscape that helps illustrate the strategic importance of this ancient border between Navarra and Aragon. The route continues to the Monastery of Leyre, the spiritual birthplace of the old kingdom, where we will enjoy a guided visit to the crypt, the Romanesque Porta Speciosa, and the church interior. We then head to the Castle of Javier to learn about the figure of Saint Francis Xavier and his international legacy. Finally, you will have free time for lunch or to stroll through the surroundings. The tour includes transportation, entrance fees, and bilingual guided visits, departing from Pamplona at 09:00.
