    “Crazy”

    So disappointed that a family of 5 has to get 2 rooms when my 3 kids are minors that's ridiculous to think that the kids are staying in a room alone or that mom has to stay in a room with 1 kid and a dad with the other 2. When I made the reservation they said that's the only way but that they will give me 2 rooms that are conected. When we arrived they said that's not possible. I had to talk to manager Ernesto Chavez who made arragements to get the rooms connected he was outstanding and did a great job listening to my needs. I just think it's not okay to break down a family when we can pay the extra kid and stay all together.

    “Amazing and relaxing vacation”

    Beautiful resort, love all the fish in the ocean swimming around you. Food was pretty good, service was excellent. We had a very good bartender at the lobby bar, his name was Fernando. We also enjoyed having service when sitting by the pool and the beach. We always had very good waiters, especially Daniel. We enjoyed the spa and the walk along the public beach beside the resort.

    “13th visit”

    My wife and I have visited the Karmina 13 times. In all but one, the visits have been wonderful. The grounds and staff have been wonderful. Food scrumptious service superb. Staying from one to two weeks on a yearly basis, I guess you would say we are regulars. Always felt safe on our walks and the market and plaza are fun. Rooms are spacious and clean. Airport is easy to navigate and transfers to resort flawless. Not many destinations have a runway paralleling the ocean which makes it breathtaking. Never encountered any timeshare pressure which has ruined some of our trips to other locations. This is a family friendly smaller location that is quite uninhabited other than weekends. It seems the chair reserving is a issue for some and we certainly have seen it. I am one to reserve our chairs but only where we will be for days and watch the sun come up while sitting on them every morning. Highly recommend the Karmina and will see you again soon.

    “All Suites”

    Had a good time. The rooms are all suites - all are large. The toilet is not in a private area - bathroom is open, which is something I do not like. Food was very good, with three specialty restaurants. Adult pool was small, compared to the rest of the pool area. And like most resorts never enough chairs or shade. If there is a towel rule, I did not see it posted, nor was it enforced. Waiters around the pool were amazing - especially Daniel - he is an asset to the hotel, so helpful & accommodating. Some even moved places to continue to have him as their waiter. Weather is very predictable, almost always sun! Not much of a beach at this location, but huge pool area with water slide. Would definitely go back.

    “Family Fun in the Sun”

    Wow! What a fun, safe, and overly enjoyable destination for the whole family. You cannot go wrong with a stay at this resort. Take note... it's for the 'whole family'. Some negative reviews say not to go here because there's too many kids. Well guess what?!? This is the perfect place to go with kids! The resort compound is just the right size to keep little ones' entertained while providing uber protective parents with a a sense of knowing that everyone is safe and secure. Given for the 6 pools, waterslide, and super protective cove at the beach... yah... this is where you, as a parent, want you and your kids to be! For our vacation provider we booked an all inclusive package with Sunwing... making the preference first and foremost for the direct flight from Calgary, AB. When you have kids... the shorter the better! For the first time, we upgraded to a premium package and we were rewarded quite nicely. Don't hesitate if given the opportunity. Again, I'm not understanding where the negative reviews come from regarding the upgrade. If one can embrace this location as more a family resort then otherwise then there wouldn't be anything but rave reviews. If we run on that thread of Karmina Palace being a perfect family resort destination then the management need only tweek a few things to make this an ideal place to come back to year after year. For example, the shows need to be a little more refined and in tune with what kids aged 7 to tweens would be enthralled with. A happy kid is a happy parent! Our kids lost interest after a couple of minutes and darted off. This means that the parents were taken away from the show and fully engaged in an impromptu game of night time hide and seek. The same for the music played at, gulp, 8:45 AM in the morning to the very end of the day. As parents, we grew up with the 80's and 90's and are in tune with a spattering of some stuff there after. Remix songs of the past few years are over played and annoying. Bring me back to the 'summer of 69' and I'll be tapping my toes all day long. Don't worry about the kids... they're too busy on the water slide or chasing iguanas. It's worth mentioning that there is limited gluten free items to choose from at this resort. The chefs at the a la carte restaurants were more than happy to serve up what they could regardless if it was the Kyoto, Agave, or Capri restaurant. Take your chances at the buffet though. The cross contamination is more than real thanks to spoons and tongs being mixed with other dishes. We really hope that the management might look into this area since more and more people are becoming gluten sensitive or all out gluten intolerant. No one wants to be held up in a hotel room because of the food they ate at the resort. Overall, the food was amazing no matter which restaurant we went to. Don't forget, as a premium guest you can book every night at an a la carte restaurant! The same cannot be said without this level of service. The last thing of note has to do with principle more than anything else. As a premium member it stated that we would receive a complimentary bottle of tequila upon arrival. After two days of not showing up we brought it to the attention of the concierge in the premium lounge. After some investigation it was determined that it would be there the next morning. No luck. It was mentioned again the following day to the same concierge who again tried to find out why. We were again promised that it would be there that day or the following morning. Again... no tequila. Let's be clear that we are not tequila starved abusers of alcohol. We were, however, enamoured with the prospect of receiving a bottle of tequila upon our arrival and why not!! We are in Mexico!! The birthplace of tequila! By the fourth day we already had our fill of tequila but it now became a matter of principle. If you are told you would receive it with an upgraded package that you kind of expect it. In the end, c'est la vie. Overall, would we return again? Absolutely! In an instant! And so should you.
