    “The Best Room Ever”

This was our first trip to Manzanillo. Probably our last but that would have nothing to do with the resort as the resort was one of the very best. Barcelo and Sunwing were offering the resort at a very good price for the week we went so over 1/2 the plane ended up at the same resort. Barcelo handled the busy sign in superbly. One of the smoothest checkins ever! They actually had your bracelets, room cards, towel cards ready at a table at the airport! They had even taken the opportunity to prebook you into the three alacartes. You could change them if you wanted to,but you didn't need to stand in a reservation line in the lobby wasting your moments in the sun. The room was beyond beautiful. We didn't pay the extra costs to get a room facing the ocean and honestly as we had a room on the sixth floor our view of the countryside and city off to the side was so beautiful the extra cost would have been wasteful. The room consisted of a living room with tv couch table and fridge. The fridge was not only stocked regularly with pop, beer and water but with packages of chips ! The bathroom was probably bigger than 100 sq feet with two sinks and enormous bathtub and a spacious shower. The bedroom was two queen beds with good bedding, good pillows and firm but not hard mattresses. A large cabinet housed two sides of closets, his and hers! Another TV. One thing to note was that if you paid for WIFI it worked in the bedroom and bathroom, and most of the resort but not the living room. As mentioned earlier the room reservation included three alacartes. Mexican, Japanese and Italian. The Mexican alacarte was in the best location and was by far the best food. We all thought everything was fantastic. The Japanese was good but slow service. The Italian was at most okay. If going to the Mexican twice is possible do that! During lunch you have an option to go to the non buffet luncheon spot and order off a menu, most of these are quite tasty also. Try at least once. Beach. Small but adequate for most of the time we were there. Our time there overlapped the beginning of the holy week in mexico and it got way too busy at the resort – if this never happened and if the shows were more interesting I would have given the resort another star. It is probably not a possibility but the beach would be better if they were able to remove(blast) away some of the rocks in the alcove to make more swimming area. The dancing and singing done at the shows were done with some degree of flair, but to be honest my complaint is a bit stupid, I wish they sang at least occasionally in English. They had a Disney show and I was looking forward to it, believing, at last, English, nope, even the background images from the Disney movies were in Spanish. I give good grades to the Buffet. Reasonable temperature was maintained on the food, dishes were kept replenished, lots of vegetables that weren’t overcooked. I thought the desert section was smallish, and the grill section was limited, but the grill wasn’t that necessary considering the buffet selections were ample. Manzanillo as a location is limited. The Mexican vibe, I felt, was low. The excursions didn’t seem interesting. The shopping was great if you wanted cheap clothes and shoes, but very limited if you wanted Mexican souvenirs. The airport was a total joke. So in my first paragraph I said I probably wouldn’t go back to Manzanillo it is these reasons not the resort. The resort was beautiful and I enjoyed my stay.

“Stunning Resort; Lovely Town; Beautiful People.”

Enjoying their small private beach, yet having easy access to the large public beach next door provided the best of both worlds. The lobby is comfortable and beautiful and the pianist that plays every evening adds that touch of class. We enjoyed Sunwing's airport transport to the hotel, but decided to take a taxi to the airport on our return in order to avoid a 3 hour wait in the airport. WELL WORTH IT!!!!

    “Relaxing, pampered stay”

Best vacation ever. Excellent service and staff. Lovely, spacious comfortable rooms. Food was great with many selections for any diet needs. Plenty of deserts and drinks. Loved the mango margarita. Grounds and pools are beautiful. Japanese and Italian restaurant are good. Water aerobics was fun as well as bingo by the poolTotally enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back.

    “Perfect location and amazing staff!”

Beautiful resort, the staff was amazing and the food was excellent. Fantastic location. The Italian a la carte was easily the best place to eat. Close enough to all shopping and the local market on Saturday is a short walk away! Would return for sure!
