my Barceló general terms and conditions

my Barceló is the Barceló Hotel Group’s international loyalty programme, open and free, aimed at rewarding the loyalty of the particular and autonomous customer who book on Barcelo.com and through the Call Centre through benefits of high value, content and communications that will improve your Barceló experience before, during and after your stay.

Accessing the my Barceló programme, as well as carrying out transactions on the Barcelo.com website and through the Barceló Hotel Group telephone booking service, implies full acceptance of the following terms and conditions of use:

- accept the privacy policy of the Barceló Hotel Group website

- to restrict access to confidential information relating to the my Barceló Programme account so that it can only be accessed by the account holder or with their consent using the www.barcelo.com website; you will be required to enter your personal details (first name, last name, country, language, date of birth and mobile number), a unique personal email as your username and a password. The password will be created by the member on the website itself.

- if a member forgets their password, they can request that it be sent to the email address with which they have registered that is their username. To do so, you must go to the website www.barcelo.com and access to Have you forgotten your password? in the my Barceló section

- the member will be responsible for safeguarding their password. Barceló Hotel Group will not be responsible for the consequences of the possible illegitimate use, by third parties, of the client’s access code


1. OBJECTIVE 1. OBJECTIVE

The my Barceló Programme account is based on the client obtaining advantages for being registered in the programme and carrying out transactions through my Barceló either through Barcelo.com and/or our Call Centre.


2. BENEFICIARIES 2. BENEFICIARIES

The beneficiaries of the my Barceló Programme (hereinafter “the member”) are of-age individuals (identified by their personal data) registered on the my Barceló Programme via website www.barcelo.com or the Barceló Call Centre.

To benefit from the exclusive benefits, the person making the bookings must be the member, who will first need to log in to the my Barceló website. Payment of invoices for bookings shall be made by the credit card included in the booking process. In the event of a booking not being a prepaid booking, payment shall be requested to the client upon arrival at the hotel.

As the person making the booking and the guest, the my Barceló member is the only person that can benefit from the exclusive benefits of the programme, and will also be the person who receives all communications.


3. THE ACCOUNT 3. THE ACCOUNT

Each client participating in themy Barceló Programme shall be allocated an account where their bookings and corresponding dates will be stored.

1. The account shall remain permanently active as long as the user does not decide to unsubscribe from the programme.

2. The client may, at any moment, request voluntary cancellation in the personalised area.

3. Booking activity generated by a member may not be transferred to another member's account.

4. Members' accounts are non-transferable.


4. TRANSACTIONS 4. TRANSACTIONS

All clients start to generate booking communications by registering in the programme.

They can only accumulate the level and application of my Barceló benefits through bookings made through Barcelo.com and/or the Call Center after you have enjoyed the corresponding stay (day after check-out) within a period of 24 months* and from March 26, 2015 (all bookings prior to this date are not booked to level a level).

 

* Due to the situation produced by the COVID-19, the my Barceló level cannot be lowered in 2020 and changes will not be made to the accumulated stays. In addition, this period of inactivity will be considered as a future regulation in 2021.

 

To calculate the level and application of my Barceló benefits, please note that only the 1st stay will be accumulated if there are consecutive later dates booked at the same hotel. The 2nd booking and any subsequent bookings will be identified as invalid and will not accumulate in your my Barceló stay counter.

If a booking is made without being registered in my Barceló, the registered customer can import this booking into their my Barceló account, so that the booking is incorporated into their transactions and they can report the maximum benefits for the account holder. Maximum deadline import of a booking to the historic site: 12 months after the check-out date at the hotel, which must be part of the Barceló Hotel Group portfolio.
You can import the booking by making the request through the web form, by accessing private area.
Bookings for Flight plus Hotel packages and those made through other websites, travel agencies or other methods cannot be imported to their my Barceló account, and therefore will not give access to or accumulate my Barceló benefits.


Special terms and conditions for modifying and importing bookings

Modification of bookings (Benefits – Reward Scheme)
- Bookings made before March 26, 2015: the modified and consumed booking cannot be used in the stays counter to apply a 5/10% discount on future bookings
- Bookings made after March 26, 2015: the modified booking and once enjoyed have been used in the stays counter to apply a 5/10% discount on future bookings

Importation of bookings (Benefits – Reward Scheme)
- Bookings made before 26 March 2015: once a stay has been enjoyed, it does not apply for a 5/10% discount on your next bookings.
- Bookings made after 26 March 2015: once a stay has been enjoyed, it applies for a 5/10% discount on your next bookings. Modification of bookings (Benefits – Packages according to level of advantages)
- Bookings made before 2 July 2015: if you modify the booking in Barcelo.com, the complement according to your level of advantages does not apply
- Bookings made after 2 July 2015: if you modify the booking in Barcelo.com, the complement according to your level of advantages is maintained


5. COMMUNICATIONS 5. COMMUNICATIONS

Barceló Hotel Group will send regular notifications regarding exclusive current offers to all my Barceló Programme clients.


6. LEVELS 6. LEVELS

My Barceló currently has 3 client levels (valid as of 2 July 2015):

- my Barceló: is the basic level which applies to a client once they register with my Barceló and for the first and second booking made at www.barcelo.com and/or our Call Centre. As a client you will reach the my Barceló Intense membership level after your 2nd stay with us within a 24-month period. A minimum expenditure of €$600 is required to qualify for this next level.
- my Barceló Intense: is the intermediate level which applies to a my Barceló client’s second stay within a 24-month period (with a minimum expenditure of €$600) and for your third or fourth booking made at www.barcelo.com and/or our Call Centre. As a client you will upgrade from the my Barceló Intense to the my Barceló Unique membership level after your 4th stay with us within a 24-month period. A minimum expenditure of €$2,000 is required to qualify for this next level.
- my Barceló Unique: is the top level which applies to a my Barceló client after a 4th stay within a 24-month period (with a minimum expenditure of €$2,000) and from your fifth booking made at www.barcelo.com and/or our Call Centre.

The my Barceló level is calculated based on the stays enjoyed for bookings made through Barcelo.com and/or the Call Center and accumulated within a period of 24 months* from March 26, 2015 (all bookings prior to this date are not booked for level of level).

In order to qualify for an upgrade to the next level, you must fulfil the minimum expenditure requirement accumulated from that same date.

** Not applicable for holiday hotels and resorts in America. Check with the hotel during your stay regarding the special requests available and the experiences with my Barceló discount.


The benefits for each my Barceló level are applied automatically during step 2 of the booking process on Barcelo.com, when the customer logs into my Barceló before booking, and they feature as an extra on the confirmation voucher of the booking in question. Only one my Barceló special benefits package is available per stay.

my Barceló special benefits terms and conditions (limitations)

- Best price guaranteed: to apply the guarantee, the difference should be with an identical hotel booking, i.e. same hotel, same room type, same board basis, same dates, same number of guests, same currency, same price restrictions, for the entire stay, as well as the same rates, taxes, handling costs and other costs derived from the service that the other website includes in the booking. The difference should be reported within 24 hours of making your booking through www.barcelo.com.
- Special requests: Always depending on availability. Request must be made at least 48 hours beforehand. The following are not considered to be special requests: Currency exchange, requests for medication or medical assistance, transfers, food products which are not available, upgrades and other services with a cost offered by the hotel and which do not feature on our itemised list of special requests.
- Pre check-in on-line: does not substitute the client identification process (handing over of ID document and collection of room key), which the hotel must carry out.
- Preferential Check-in and check-out: my Barceló reception desk depending on the respective hotel’s availability, and any client must still provide ID for identification purposes.
- Free Wi-Fi: in hotels in Latin America/Caribbean my Barceló clients will have complementary Wi-Fi access for 1 device, 2 devices for my Barceló Intense, and there are no limits on the amount of devices with my Barceló Unique.
- Printing services for personal documents: limited to documents for personal use (boarding card, map, passport or ID document) and with a maximum of 5 copies per person and stay.
- Early check-in: subject to availability, does not include a free extension on your accommodation type, and in Latin America/Caribbean requires a minimum notice of 48 hours to the hotel.
- Early check-in: subject to availability, does not include a free extension on your accommodation type.
- Special terms and conditions in hotel experiences: only available to clients in hotels for experiences with charge. Discounts do not apply for pre-booked experiences. The maximum discount for Barceló Holidays experiences is 10%. You cannot accumulate discounts with other external programme offers and promotions. Cannot be used in conjunction with resort credit in LATAM.
- Special terms and conditions for meeting rooms: only for clients staying at the hotel who have booked a meeting room. Not applicable for holiday resort hotels in Latin America/Caribbean.
1. Business coffee break: maximum of one complementary coffee service per stay for no more than 5 people, consisting of coffee, tea and pastries selected by the hotel.
2. Free audiovisual equipment: basic equipment available at the hotel.
3. Discount on rental of meeting rooms; only applies for rooms with a maximum capacity of 10-12 people. We cannot guarantee rooms with all your requirements.
4. Printing services for professional documents: limited to a maximum of 150 black and white copies, and complimentary service only guaranteed with 24 hours notice.
Welcome Minibar: limited to hotels with minibar in the rooms. Does not include drinks or replacements.


8. HOTELS 8. HOTELS

my Barceló, the Barceló Hotel Group international loyalty programme, is applied in all Barceló Hotel Group hotels in Europe, Latin America/Caribbean and Africa, except at Barceló Formentor Villas (Mallorca, Spain) and Novo Resort The Residence Luxury Apartments by Barceló (Cádiz, Spain) and Cuba (Caribe). Nevertheless, bookings made at these hotels (once they have been checked out), if they are accumulated in the stay counter of the programme.

Although the my Barceló benefits are global, there may be slight variations and/or customisations, as well as exceptions, depending on the specific situation of each hotel.


9. MODIFICATIONS 9. MODIFICATIONS

1. Barceló Hotel Group reserves the right to change, in part or in whole, these Terms and Conditions, and my Barceló Programme customers will be informed of any changes in the next email sent to them; these changes will be applied from the date of this email.

2. Barceló Hotel Group may end the participation of a member in the my Barceló Programme with immediate effect by written notification when a member does not comply with the general Terms and Conditions.

3. The user can change or update their personal data, and travel and communication preferences at any moment by logging into their personal area.

4. Barceló Hotel Group reserves the right to amend or cancel, either completely or partially, without prior notice, these general Terms and Conditions, or any other aspect relating to the programme or the participation of its members, and will try to communicate such modifications to its members in advance.
