Description

The northern coast of the Valencian Community is home to one of the most distinctive historic settings along the Mediterranean. This day trip from Valencia takes you to Peñíscola, where heritage, coastal scenery and film locations come together.

After travelling in an air-conditioned vehicle, you will reach this seaside town, whose old quarter rises on a rocky peninsula surrounded by the sea. Its narrow streets and fortified walls preserve a medieval layout that has appeared in productions such as Game of Thrones.

With your guide, you will walk through the historic centre and visit the Pope Luna Castle, a 13th-century fortress built by the Knights Templar and one of the best-preserved castles in Spain. Inside, you will learn about Benedict XIII and the historical importance of this strategic location.

The experience also includes free time to explore the old town at your own pace, browse local shops or head towards the beach depending on the season, before returning to Valencia.

With the sea surrounding its walls and history present in every corner, the atmosphere lingers quietly, long after the journey back begins.
