In the inland area of Castellón, the San José Caves reveal one of Europe’s most distinctive underground landscapes. This excursion from Valencia offers the chance to explore a natural setting shaped over time by water.
After travelling by private vehicle, you will enter the cave to begin a route that combines a boat ride and a walking section. The boat follows the underground river, one of the longest of its kind in Europe, passing through galleries where lighting highlights the natural formations.
The visit continues on foot through several chambers, allowing a closer look at stalactites, stalagmites and other geological features that define the cave. Over approximately 45 minutes, the route provides a complete view of its interior.
The environment maintains a constant temperature, contributing to a stable atmosphere throughout the visit. The quiet surroundings, flowing water and rock formations create a setting unlike any above ground.
In the soft light beneath the surface, with water moving steadily through the cave, the experience unfolds in a way that feels both still and immersive.
