This April we take you to a magical place!
Since 1980 this festival has been declared of international tourist interest... It is the Moors and Christians festival in honour of Saint George, in the city of Alcoy!
During the three days of the festival, the historical events that took place in 1276 are commemorated, related to the Muslim revolts that took place in the region and which gave rise to the patronage of Saint George. According to tradition, St George intervened to defend the new settlers during an attack on them, during which the warlord Al-Azraq was killed.
