The Most Important Wineries Near Valencia
Less than an hour from Valencia lies an oenological treasure: the Utiel region. Known as the “Valencian Tuscany” for its vineyards and valleys, this area will captivate you with a winemaking tradition that dates back to the 7th century BC—one of the oldest in the world. A paradise for wine lovers, where you can delight in the diversity of flavors offered by the Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin.
On our Utiel and Requena winery tour, we will take you to explore the towns where this exceptional Valencian wine is produced. You will visit the vineyards and discover the winemaking process, tasting grapes straight from the vine in August and September, and participating in grape stomping during October.
The Utiel-Requena vineyards are a feast for the senses—a visual symphony of natural beauty and serenity. Expansive landscapes of green and golden hues change with the seasons, from the lush spring to the golden harvest of autumn. Rolling hills and mountains embrace the vineyards, offering majestic panoramas with picturesque villages scattered throughout. A perfect place to disconnect and immerse yourself in the harmony of land and wine.
On this tour, we will visit two wineries:
-First Visit: The historic Murviedro Winery in Requena, including wine tasting.
-Second Visit: The Vera de Estenas Winery in Utiel, including wine tasting.
Historic Murviedro Winery
Our first stop will be at the iconic Historic Murviedro Winery, located in the heart of Requena’s picturesque old town. Here, we will explore its mysterious underground caves, a 12th-century legacy originally used to store wine and food under optimal conditions thanks to their constant temperature. In this fascinating setting, you will enjoy a guided tour that includes tasting an exquisite wine inside the caves. The experience continues in the main tasting room, where you can savor two more wines accompanied by a delicious appetizer.

Vera de Estenas Winery in Utiel
Unique for its setting, you will find yourself surrounded by breathtaking vineyards that encircle a beautifully preserved historic estate. This modernist winery, founded in 1876, has been passed down through generations, preserving tradition, know-how, and a love for wine to produce some of the best in the region. You will feel at home amidst nature and tranquility while enjoying a guided tour of the impressive estate and ending with a tasting of 3 Valencian wines in the gardens.
