    “Great property and staff”

    The resort was beautiful and had all the amenities we could ever need. Everything was very clean and comfortable! Getting meals at the buffets were very convenient. The staff was attentive and obviously hard working, all of them were great! We most enjoyed the variety of pools and great beach! Our room was clean and comfortable; the bed was kind of hard and air conditioner wasn’t super cold. We still slept great! We would definitely go back!

    Shout out to Erica in the Maya Beach Premium lounge for being such a lovely hostess! She serves the best tequila, tea, chocolate covered strawberries and so sweetly with a smile! Erica is one of the true treasures of this Barcelo resort! Love this girl! 💗💗💗

    “Duggan-aldredge vacation Sprin break”

    Dear Barcelo Caribe Besch General Manager, Myself and my daughter very much enjoyed our stay we check in March 18th and checked out March 23rd st 630am this morning . First I would like to say your restaurant dining hall staff excellent food was pretty good no complaints , the cleaning staff very good also and overall you have a very nice place with lots to do and a very good gym ! However this is where you need to place attention to please upon initial checkin staff st desk not very friendly And command of English 6 out of ten! However this is where I have a major complaint we booked dinner for the French restaurant brasserie for a Friday 23 at approx 730pm! The charge was $20.00 extra per person to attend this Restaurant as Cheap Caribbean did not Inform is that our hotel stay only entitled us to book 3 restaurants and that the other higher tier restaurants had a $20.00 charge per person ! I booked for the French restaurant they charged my card I cancelled it on Wednesday , before I cancelled it I went to the front desk and said I wanted to cancel the meal They were vordkibe rude and said I had to go to guest services ! To cancel a dinner reservation ! I went to guest services waited 45 minutes explained to the lady we wanted to cancel the meal as we were taking a trip on a Friday ! We cancelled this reservation , after some time of her looking st her computer I said please can you give me a receipt she did provide a receipt to me! Upon checking out this am at 630 the front desk young genetleman said it was not canceled even though I had a paper and that I needed to pay this is standard operations I complained to him and gave him my receipt to make a copy his Name was Joseph Zargazee he said he would talk to his manager when the manager comes in! What I find it hard to believe that someone at 630 in the am with a receipt could not make a decision to not Charge me $20.00 per person ! This was very disappointing I felt hisbyou g ma. Whilst he was not rude appeared really not to care about the customer ! This is disturbing had I not had this receipt it would be my word against theirs, I am calling my Amex card to ping this )40.00 total charge . Dear general manager you have a very nice resort , you have people that work very hard. The people st the front desk need to appear friendlier and smile , this was the first time I had ever encountered this in Mexico Usually upon check in the front desk people appear to go out of their way to welcome you ! Please note general manager my room number is 1225 For two , Also Cheap Caribbean you also need to provide better Information which was disappointing ! Thank you Karen n Dugganaldredge

    “Beautiful resort with terrible food.”

    The resort itself and the beach is gorgeous. Our rooms were great as well! We came with our 4 boys and the food was awful! Too much money for nasty food. We travel a lot and this was awful. Never expected the food to be this bad. The sit down (a la carts) restaurants were good but we were expecting that the whole time. All 4 of our kids (20, 18, 14 and 10) said they did not want to go back. A cruise is a way better option if you want good food or an all inclusive resort that is safe to leave the property to eat elsewhere or allows you to eat at sit downs for every meal.

    “March 2019”

    Over all we had pleasant stay, however we do not plan on returning. Hits: - Large pool areas with lots of seating. -Well kept grounds. - beach is wonderful. Sand, water and snorkelling.( this is the biggest plus for us) - food is fresh, good. Misses : - food is good, but selection and variety seemed lack compared to other resorts we have stayed at. - very hard to find coffee/ cappuccino etc , especially early in the AM. This was a HUGE frustration. At all resorts we have stayed before, there’s was usually a coffee bar 24 hrs, usually in or near the lobby. If we get up at 6:30( before buffets open ) we could not find coffee. We asked many staff, no body could tell us where to get an early morning coffee before buffets opened. - we have teens, and there seemed to lack a central place with lots of stuff for teens to play sports/ wifi/ activities. The facilities for teens seemed to be spread all over the resort - another huge miss for us was extra charges at resort. Very dispointing. Extra charges at this all inclusive for WiFi, bowling, water park, mini put .... drove us crazy. We should not have to Cary around our credit card for activities at an all inclusive. Most of these things are included at other resorts we have stayed at. - water park. On top of charging for admission, if you kids are under 12 they must be accompanied by an adult. But get this, the adult has to pay full price too, even if they are not swimming but watching their children. We happen to be at the resort during the huge Sundara concert. I can not for the life of me understand why we were placed in the closest building, and one of the closest rooms to the concert when we have 2 children. Totally unsafe, and inappropriate. My wife and I were offered to purchase hard drugs, and my teen son was offered beer by a concert goer. Many drunk, party hard young adults took over our end of the resort on our last 2 days at the resort. Terrible judgement by barcello to place us in rooms near the concert. Overall nice clean resort. Staff friendly enough. Overall we have been to other resorts in this star rating that we would prefer.
