Discover the historical and scenic richness of Gran Canaria through a journey that brings together nature, heritage and tradition. A full-day experience designed to explore some of the island’s most representative sites within a single itinerary.
The day begins at the Jardín Canario, the largest botanical garden in Spain and a leading centre for the conservation of endemic flora. Covering more than 27 hectares, it is home to a wide variety of native species from the Canary Islands and the wider Macaronesian region. As you stroll through its grounds, you will take in thoughtfully integrated natural landscapes and gain a closer understanding of the archipelago’s plant life.
We then continue to the historic district of Vegueta, in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its colonial streets are home to some of the archipelago’s most emblematic landmarks, including the Casa de Colón, Santa Ana Cathedral and the Canarian Museum. Just a short walk away is Calle Mayor de Triana, one of the city’s main commercial avenues.
The itinerary also includes a stop at Santa Catalina Park, one of the city’s main meeting points thanks to its proximity to Las Canteras Beach and the cruise terminal.
In the island’s interior, we visit the Guayadeque Ravine, one of the largest ravines in the archipelago, known for its pre-Hispanic archaeological remains, its wealth of endemic flora and fauna, and its distinctive cave houses, including a chapel carved into the rock. The day concludes in the historic centre of Agüimes, where cobbled streets, traditional squares and carefully restored houses reflect the town’s cultural identity. In the Plaza de San Antón, you can admire former farmers’ homes and bourgeois residences, some of which now house artisan workshops.
A comprehensive itinerary for those wishing to discover the natural and historical essence of Gran Canaria in a single day.
