The north of Gran Canaria offers a unique blend of historic architecture, agricultural landscapes and traditional local industries, which you will discover on this approximately 7-hour guided excursion with an expert local guide.
The tour starts with a visit to Arucas, a town closely linked to banana cultivation and sugar cane production. We will stroll through its old quarter and enter the Neo-Gothic Church of San Juan Bautista, one of the municipality’s most iconic buildings.
On the way to Firgas, known as the “town of water”, the rural scenery takes centre stage, with fields dedicated to potatoes, vegetables and banana plantations. In the historic centre, the 30-metre cascading fountain stands out as one of the town’s best-known landmarks.
The route then continues to the valley of Agaete, home to Finca La Laja – Bodega Los Berrazales, the only coffee producers in Spain. Here you will learn about the cultivation and production process, with admission and a coffee tasting included. Optionally, you can enjoy a tasting of Canary Islands wines and cheeses for a supplement of €9, payable directly at the estate.
Before returning to Las Palmas, scheduled for around 17:00, we will stop at Puerto de Las Nieves, a traditional fishing village where you will have free time for lunch (not included) or to take a walk along the coast.
An ideal option for discovering the identity of the island’s north through its towns, rural landscapes and traditional activities.
