Would you like to discover the four coasts of Gran Canaria in a single excursion?
We begin our tour heading southwest, visiting the artistic Puerto de Mogán, a former fishing village transformed into one of the most picturesque and charming tourist spots in Gran Canaria. The town is known for its multicolored bougainvillea, colonial architecture, and narrow canals, which have earned it the nickname “Little Venice.”
Our excursion continues through volcanic landscapes and multicolored mountains until we reach the village of San Nicolás, the center of tomato cultivation in Gran Canaria. Here, vast expanses of greenhouses produce countless varieties of tomatoes and some of the island’s most delicious tropical fruits.
The west coast, with its stunning cliffs, brings us to Puerto de Las Nieves in Agaete, where we will see the remains of the former “Finger of God.” In Puerto de Las Nieves, you can enjoy lunch in a traditional fishermen’s restaurant at a very reasonable price*.
Our excursion then takes us along the north coast, passing through one of the ancient kingdoms of Gran Canaria’s first inhabitants, the city of Gáldar. The tour continues to Guía, known for its wonderful artisan cheeses.
We continue along the north until we reach Arucas, a city famous for its banana plantations and as the birthplace of rum in the Canary Islands. Once in Las Palmas, we make a stop where you can stroll along the famous Las Canteras Beach, photograph the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, or, if you prefer, go shopping at one of the largest shopping centers on the island, Las Arenas.
After an unforgettable day, we return to the south along the east coast of Gran Canaria, not without first seeing the famous Avenida Marítima, lined with its beautiful and slender palm trees—now one of the main arteries of the city of Las Palmas.
