Description
The Serra de Tramuntana, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to some of Mallorca’s most dramatic scenery. This panoramic route crosses the mountains using several traditional forms of transport while revealing coastal landscapes, historic villages and Mediterranean nature from different perspectives.
The day begins with a road journey into the mountainous interior of the island. Along the route, you’ll pass reservoirs, pine forests and elevated viewpoints overlooking some of Mallorca’s highest peaks. The journey then continues towards Sa Calobra, reached through a winding road famous for its striking engineering and spectacular cliffside setting.
Once there, you’ll have time to enjoy the surroundings and walk towards the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, one of Mallorca’s best-known natural landmarks. From Sa Calobra, a boat trip takes you along the Tramuntana coastline to Port de Sóller, offering sea views of the mountains and hidden coves along the way.
Back on land, you’ll board the historic Sóller tram, travelling between the harbour and the town through seafront scenery and orange groves. Later, the route continues aboard the legendary Sóller train, a century-old railway that still preserves much of its original appearance while crossing valleys, tunnels and rural landscapes on the return journey to Palma.
The sound of the wooden carriages, the scent of citrus trees and the changing coastal views create a route where every stage reveals a different side of Mallorca’s landscape.
