Discover southern Lanzarote on an approximately 8-hour guided excursion that explains the impact of the volcanic eruptions which, over six years in the 18th century, reshaped the island’s landscape.
The route begins at the Timanfaya National Park, also known as the Fire Mountains. Here you will follow the Volcano Route, passing craters, lava fields and formations created by those historic eruptions, whose effects remain visible nearly 300 years later. Geothermal demonstrations highlight the heat that still lies beneath the surface. An optional camel ride across the volcanic surroundings is available (not included).
The tour continues to La Geria, Lanzarote’s main wine-producing region, where vines are grown in ash-filled hollows protected by stone walls — a traditional method adapted to the island’s unique conditions. There is the possibility of a winery tasting before a stop for lunch (not included), followed by the return to the pick-up points.
A journey that reveals how natural forces and human adaptation have shaped one of the Canary Islands’ most distinctive landscapes.
