Discover the distinctive wine-growing landscape of La Geria, one of the most emblematic areas of Lanzarote, on an excursion designed to explore the island’s wine culture.
After pick-up in Playa Blanca, you will begin the journey in a small group of no more than eight participants accompanied by a specialised local guide. Along the route you will learn about the remarkable cultivation method developed by Lanzarote’s farmers, who plant vines in volcanic ash pits protected by semicircular stone walls that shield them from the wind.
The tour includes visits to three wineries and several vineyards in the region, offering insight into how wine is produced in this unique volcanic environment. Some wineries operate on a larger scale, while others remain family-run and preserve traditional production methods.
During the experience you will enjoy a tasting of six local wines, two at each winery, along with a sample of the well-known Lanzarote goat’s cheese at one of the stops.
A relaxed way to explore Lanzarote’s volcanic vineyards and understand why the wines of La Geria have become one of the island’s most recognised gastronomic symbols.
