Admire the beautiful views of Bilbao from the most popular viewpoint in the city, which includes a funicular ride along with a tour of the Ensanche or Casco Viejo, depending on the day
A tour that will help you find your way around the city with anecdotes and practical tips!
We will meet at the Plaza del Funicular, where we will take this famous means of transport to the viewpoint of Artxanda mountain. From the top we will enjoy excellent panoramic views of Bilbao, overlooking the Nervión estuary, the Guggenheim Museum, the new San Mámés football stadium, the Iberdrola tower, the Old Town with the Santiago Cathedral and other iconic places of the city.
After learning some curiosities and historical facts about Bilbao, we will go on to see the area of the mouth of the estuary with its two banks, stressing the great importance of the whole area with its great icon: the Bizkaia Bridge or as it is popularly called, the Hanging Bridge.
We will take the funicular railway back and at this point, depending on the day of the tour, the itinerary is different.
CHANGES IN THE ITINERARY DEPENDING ON THE DAY OF THE TOUR
Please note that the order of the itinerary of the guided tour of Bilbao after the climb to the viewpoint changes depending on the day of the activity:
- SATURDAY TO MONDAY: The itinerary will be completed by visiting the Old Town, the germ of the city of Bilbao, focusing on the most emblematic buildings and places.
- TUESDAY TO FRIDAY INCLUDED: The itinerary will be completed by crossing the Zubi Zuri footbridge, designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava, reaching the Ensanche of Bilbao. Here we will be able to see the most representative of the city centre, the Palace of Ibai Gane, current headquarters of Athletic de Bilbao, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Gran Vía de Don Diego López de Haro, the Plaza de Moyúa and other emblematic places and buildings.
For this tour to take place there must be a minimum of 4 total participants. If there are not 4 participants, BilbaoGuia will contact the person who has booked 48 hours before the tour to offer them an alternative or, if this is not possible, the cancellation and full refund of the tour with 48 hours notice before the start of the tour.
