Take in some of the most distinctive landscapes of the Basque coast on this small-group experience departing from Bilbao. Industrial heritage, local wine culture and historic fishing towns shape a route designed to showcase the character of Biscay.
The tour begins with a guided visit to the Vizcaya Hanging Bridge, an engineering landmark inaugurated in 1893 and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the visit, your guide will explain the historical importance of this iconic structure and its role in the region’s industrial development.
You will then head to a local winery to taste Txakoli, the traditional white wine of the Basque Country. The visit also includes an introduction to the production process and the close connection between this wine and the Atlantic environment surrounding the vineyards.
The journey continues towards the viewpoint overlooking Gaztelugatxe, one of the most striking coastal spots in northern Spain. From here, you can admire sweeping sea views and capture memorable photographs of the rocky islet and its famous hermitage.
Later, enjoy free time in Mundaka, a seaside town well known for its surfing atmosphere and maritime identity. Before returning to Bilbao, you will join a guided walk through Bermeo, where narrow streets, colourful buildings and fishing traditions still define daily life.
The scent of the sea breeze, the sound of the waves against the cliffs and the fresh notes of Txakoli create a route filled with authentic Basque coastal character.
