Description
The Basque coastline is home to elegant seaside cities, long-standing culinary traditions and historic fishing communities. Departing from Bilbao, this small-group experience offers a relaxed introduction to both San Sebastián and Getaria alongside a local guide.
After leaving Bilbao, the route reaches San Sebastián, where you will walk through the city centre and the well-known Old Town. Along the way, admire the iconic La Concha Bay, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful urban beaches, while learning more about the city’s cultural and historical background.
The experience also features a tasting of traditional pintxos in selected local bars. This essential part of Basque gastronomy offers the chance to enjoy local flavours while soaking up the lively atmosphere of the old quarter and its seafront streets.
The journey then continues to Getaria, a coastal town closely linked to fishing traditions, grilled seafood and the production of Txakoli wine. Its narrow streets and harbour preserve the maritime identity that still shapes daily life today. Getaria is also the birthplace of renowned fashion designer Cristóbal Balenciaga.
During the visit, you will have time to stroll through the historic centre and stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the Cantabrian coast. Transport is provided in an air-conditioned vehicle, allowing for a comfortable pace throughout the day.
The taste of freshly prepared pintxos, the ocean breeze and the rhythm of the harbour create a memorable atmosphere throughout this coastal Basque experience.
