Description
The coastline of Biscay brings together striking natural landscapes and historically significant sites. This excursion from Bilbao offers a guided journey through three of its most representative locations in a single day.
The first stop is San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a small islet connected to the mainland by a stone bridge. The access path leads up to the hermitage, crossing cliffs shaped by the Cantabrian Sea. This location has gained international recognition through its appearance in audiovisual productions.
The route continues to Mundaka, located within the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve. Its harbour, natural surroundings and connection to surfing form part of its identity, where maritime tradition and contemporary activity coexist.
The final stop takes place in Guernica, a town of strong historical significance for the Basque people. Here, you will visit the surroundings of the Tree of Guernica and learn about the events linked to the bombing of the town, as well as see a mural reproducing the work of Picasso.
