Take in some of the most distinctive landscapes and cultural landmarks of Vizcaya on this half-day tour from Bilbao. The route brings together industrial heritage, dramatic coastline and Basque wine tradition in a carefully planned morning experience.
The activity begins next to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, where you will head towards the Vizcaya Suspension Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the guided visit, you will learn about the history and engineering importance of this remarkable structure inaugurated in 1893, still linking the towns of Portugalete and Getxo today.
The journey then continues to the viewpoint overlooking Gaztelugatxe, one of the most iconic spots along the Basque coast and internationally recognised as Dragonstone from Game of Thrones. From here, you can admire the small island, its stone bridge and the rugged cliffs shaped by the Cantabrian Sea without completing the walk up to the hermitage.
The experience carries on with a visit to a local winery dedicated to the production of Txakoli, the traditional white wine of the Basque Country. You will taste between two and three varieties while learning about the origins, production methods and Atlantic character that define this regional wine.
Return to Bilbao is scheduled for around 13:30, leaving behind a morning filled with sea views, historical landmarks and the unmistakable flavours of northern Spain.
