The Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is home to landscapes that go beyond its most popular routes. This 4x4 experience takes you into less accessible areas, offering a different perspective of some of its most distinctive locations.
The route starts in Carboneras and heads into the Volcanic Range, crossing coastal steppe areas and zones close to the shoreline. Along the way, the off-road vehicle allows access to natural viewpoints and quieter paths rarely reached on foot.
One of the highlights is Mesa Roldán, where you can enjoy wide views over the surroundings, including Playa de los Muertos, Agua Amarga, and the nearby hills. This spot is also home to a historic watchtower, known for appearing in several audiovisual productions.
The journey continues towards the former mineral loading pier of Agua Amarga, a reminder of the area’s industrial past, where its function and historical importance within the province of Almería are explained.
During the route, there is also a stop at an ancient olive tree, estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. The experience then reaches Agua Amarga, where you will have free time to swim or enjoy the local atmosphere with a relaxed break.
A carefully designed route to discover Cabo de Gata from within, following paths that connect history, landscape and sea, with changing scenery at every stage.
