Description
Entering the Gypsum Karst of Sorbas reveals a landscape shaped by water and time, where arid surroundings contrast with hidden pockets of life. This guided route offers an active way to explore one of the most distinctive natural areas in Almería.
The itinerary follows an დაახლოებით 4-kilometre trail with gentle terrain, suitable for a wide range of visitors. Along the way, you will pass through the unique setting of Los Molinos del Río Aguas, a small settlement known for its narrow paths and buildings integrated into the landscape.
The route continues towards the source of the Río Aguas, a natural oasis surrounded by vegetation where the sound of flowing water and birdlife accompany the walk. During the experience, you will observe gypsum formations, erosion-shaped canyons and traces of past activity such as old mills and caves.
Beyond its natural value, the experience also includes participatory elements such as jewellery-making workshops using local materials, particularly in private tours. You will also gain insight into the area’s water culture and its mining heritage.
The final stretch invites you to pause at the Poza del Río Aguas, where you may take a refreshing dip and spot local wildlife such as terrapins. A peaceful setting that encourages you to slow down and connect with the environment.
