Explore the underwater world of Cabo de Gata with an expert guide and discover the biodiversity of the Mediterranean while snorkeling safely and enjoyably.
Dive into the crystal-clear waters of Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park and get ready for an unforgettable underwater experience. This snorkeling tour is not just a water activity, but a true educational expedition. Guided by a certified aquatic lifeguard instructor, we will explore marine areas full of life, such as Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows, rocky formations, and sheltered zones with high biological diversity.
From the surface, you will be able to observe schools of fish such as salemas and seabream, hidden groupers, starfish, and even well-camouflaged octopuses. For those with previous experience, the guide will facilitate safe freediving practice in suitable areas. All of this takes place in a controlled environment, with interpretive explanations about the species observed, their habitats, and their ecological role.
-The guide will distribute the necessary equipment and explain the context of the location. Before entering the water, the main species found along the route will be presented on an identification sheet.
-In shallow areas where participants can stand, instruction will be given on breathing through the snorkel and improving finning technique.
-Once the tour begins, participants will not touch the seabed in order to protect the ecosystem. The “hip thrust” technique for safe immersion will be demonstrated optionally.
-Observed ecosystems: sandy bottom, rocky bottom, and Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows.
To understand and appreciate the marine biodiversity of the Mediterranean through direct observation, promoting environmental education and respect for aquatic ecosystems.
