Take in the serene atmosphere of this spiritual town as you visit the Piazza del Comune, the heart of Assisi, and enjoy a leisurely lunch or coffee in one of its charming cafés. After soaking in the beauty of Assisi, the tour continues to the enchanting Civita di Bagnoregio, often referred to as "The Dying City" because of its precarious location on a cliff and the erosion affecting its landscape. This captivating village, perched atop a hill made of volcanic tuff and accessible solely by a footbridge, provides a distinctive experience with its historic streets, charming stone homes, and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding valleys. While you're there, you'll have the opportunity to wander along its ancient pathways, explore local artisan boutiques, and capture the beauty of one of Italy’s most extraordinary landscapes through your lens. The day's last destination is the ancient city of Orvieto, perched dramatically on a volcanic tuff cliff. As we approach, the tour leader will offer background information on its history and landmarks, including the iconic Orvieto Cathedral, famed for its intricate Gothic façade (entrance not included). Once in Orvieto, enjoy free time to explore the cobblestone streets, visit artisan shops, or simply admire the panoramic views over the Umbrian countryside. Don’t miss the chance to sample Orvieto’s famous local wine and regional cuisine. After a full day of exploration, you'll reboard the coach for a relaxing drive back to Rome, arriving in the evening.
