Description

Visit some of the most distinctive locations on the Costa Brava during a full-day route through fishing villages, coastal paths and medieval towns filled with history. Departing from Barcelona, this experience reveals the quieter and more authentic side of Girona’s coastline, known for its cliffs, hidden coves and Mediterranean scenery.

The journey begins at Barcelona Nord Bus Station before heading towards Calella de Palafrugell, a former fishing village that still preserves the traditional atmosphere of Catalonia’s seaside towns. Whitewashed houses facing the sea, small boats resting by the shore and pine-fringed coves create one of the region’s most recognisable landscapes. You will have free time to wander around the village and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace.

The route continues on foot along the historic Camí de Ronda, a coastal trail originally used to monitor maritime smuggling activities. This scenic path offers open views over the Mediterranean and passes through well-preserved natural areas before reaching Llafranc, an elegant seaside town appreciated for its relaxed atmosphere and beachfront setting.

After free time for lunch, the itinerary continues towards Begur, a town watched over by the remains of a historic castle and known for its Indianos houses. These striking residences were built by locals who emigrated to the Americas during the 18th century and later returned as wealthy merchants. Walking through the town reveals an interesting blend of Mediterranean and colonial influences.

In the afternoon, the tour heads to Peratallada, considered one of Catalonia’s best-preserved medieval ensembles. Its narrow streets, stone buildings and defensive walls carved into the rock have maintained much of their original appearance. Later, you will arrive in Pals, a medieval hilltop village crowned by a Romanesque tower overlooking the landscapes of the Empordà region and the Costa Brava coastline.

Coastal footpaths, quiet medieval squares and centuries-old stone facades accompany a route shaped by the slower rhythm and luminous atmosphere that define the traditional Costa Brava.
