This full-day excursion from Barcelona visits three of Catalonia’s most distinctive destinations: the historic city of Girona, the surrealist world of Figueres and the Mediterranean charm of Cadaqués. Medieval architecture, internationally renowned art and coastal landscapes shape a route filled with contrast throughout the day.
The first stop is Girona, famous for its medieval heritage and the colourful houses lining the Onyar River. During the guided walking tour, you will pass landmarks such as Sant Feliu Basilica, Girona Cathedral and the historic Jewish Quarter, considered one of the best preserved in Europe. The guide will also lead you through the Eiffel Bridge and Sant Domènec steps while sharing insights into the city’s medieval past.
After some free time in Girona, the journey continues towards Figueres, birthplace of Salvador Dalí. Along the way, you will learn about the artist’s life and the surrealist movement that shaped his work. Once in the city, you may optionally visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum, designed by Dalí himself and home to some of his most iconic creations.
Following the museum visit, there will be time to enjoy lunch before heading to Cadaqués, one of the most picturesque towns on the Costa Brava. Whitewashed streets, Mediterranean views and the silhouette of Santa Maria church have attracted artists and travellers for generations.
In Cadaqués, you will have free time to walk along the seafront, relax on the beach or wander through the historic centre at your own pace. Fishing boats, narrow alleys and the sound of the sea create a peaceful atmosphere to end the day beside the Mediterranean.
