Spend the day surrounded by mountain landscapes, historic architecture and organic vineyards on a route that connects two of Catalonia’s most distinctive locations. From the spiritual atmosphere of Montserrat to the centuries-old estate of Oller del Mas, this experience offers a balanced mix of heritage, gastronomy and local wine culture.
The journey begins at Barcelona Nord Bus Station, where you will meet your English-speaking guide before travelling towards Montserrat. Located around one hour from Barcelona, this iconic mountain range is recognised for its striking rock formations and its Benedictine monastery, one of the most important religious sites in Catalonia. The guided visit includes the basilica and monastery, followed by free time to enjoy the surroundings at your own pace.
You may choose to walk through the panoramic viewpoints, browse local produce stalls or visit the cultural spaces within the monastery complex. Subject to availability, visitors may also have the opportunity to listen to l’Escolania de Montserrat, regarded as the oldest boys’ choir in Europe still performing today.
The route then continues to Oller del Mas, a family-owned winery set within a remarkable medieval castle whose original walls date back to the 10th century. Here, a multi-course regional lunch accompanied by local wines will be served in a peaceful setting surrounded by vineyards and countryside.
During the afternoon, the guided winery visit includes the vineyards, production areas and castle grounds. You will learn about the winemaking process and the sustainable philosophy behind Oller del Mas, whose organic wines have received significant recognition in recent years. The experience concludes with a tasting of three carefully selected organic wines.
The sound of nature across the vineyards, the scent of ageing wine barrels and the dramatic silhouette of Montserrat create a memorable atmosphere throughout the day, leaving behind a genuine connection with Catalonia’s landscapes and traditions.
