Description
Northern Navarra is home to misty landscapes, historic villages and stories that have shaped local traditions for centuries. The route heads first towards Elizondo, the valley’s main town and one of the most recognisable destinations in the region. Noble houses, stone bridges crossing the Bidasoa River and quiet streets create an atmosphere strongly linked to Navarra’s rural heritage. During the guided walk, visitors can also recognise settings connected to Dolores Redondo’s well-known Baztán trilogy.
The journey then continues to the legendary Zugarramurdi Caves, a striking natural site shaped by water erosion over thousands of years. These caves became famous for their association with witchcraft legends and the historical accounts of alleged coven gatherings that still form part of local folklore today.
Walking through its rock galleries offers a closer look at the historical and cultural background of one of Navarra’s most symbolic locations. The activity includes private transport, cave entrance tickets and a bilingual guide throughout the excursion.
