+1
Spanish
Free cancellation if canceled at least 48 hours before the start of the experience.
Description
The coastline of Gipuzkoa is the origin of one of northern Spain’s most distinctive wines. This excursion from San Sebastián offers the opportunity to discover Txakoli in its natural setting, understanding how landscape and climate shape its character.
The route heads towards Zarautz and Getaria, where vineyards stretch across hillsides close to the sea. Along the way, your guide explains the key features of this designation of origin, influenced by the proximity of the Cantabrian Sea and a winemaking tradition that dates back centuries.
In Getaria, you will walk through the harbour and historic centre before visiting a txakolindegi, a local winery where the core of the experience takes place. Here, you will learn about the full production process, from grape cultivation to fermentation.
The visit concludes with a guided tasting of different Txakoli varieties, paired with a local aperitif that enhances their flavours and highlights their connection to regional cuisine.
The tour is carried out with organised transport and a guide, ensuring smooth access between each stop.
Among vineyards overlooking the sea and freshly poured glasses, the crisp taste of Txakoli becomes closely linked to the surrounding landscape.
