Description
The Rioja Alavesa region represents a key part of northern Spain’s winemaking heritage. This excursion from San Sebastián offers a full-day experience to explore its vineyards, wineries and gastronomic traditions in a landscape shaped by wine culture.
The journey leads to a family-run winery, where you will gain insight into the winemaking process. From vineyard cultivation to ageing in oak barrels, each stage is explained within its context, helping you understand how soil and climate influence the final result.
The visit includes a guided tasting featuring different wines from the D.O.Ca. Rioja, allowing you to identify aromas and characteristics typical of the region. This part of the experience connects theory with practice and highlights the diversity of styles.
The experience continues with a traditional multi-course lunch, paired with selected local wines. This moment adds a broader perspective of the region, where cuisine and wine are closely linked.
Before returning, there is a stop in Laguardia, a medieval village surrounded by vineyards, where you can walk through its streets and enjoy views from its lookout points.
Between shared tables, vineyards stretching into the distance and the unhurried pace of the surroundings, the day unfolds with a sense of balance that invites you to enjoy each moment.
