Description

Barcelona is filled with hidden symbols, mythological creatures and historical references that often go unnoticed without the right perspective. This private walking tour reveals the medieval legends and Catalan stories that inspired architects such as Antoni Gaudí and helped shape the city’s distinctive modernist identity.

The route follows the elegant Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s most important modernist avenues, while your guide explains the meaning behind decorative details found on façades, rooftops, balconies and street lamps. Dragons, bats and symbols connected to Catalan culture appear throughout some of the city’s most celebrated buildings.

Along the way, you will stop outside landmarks such as Casa Milà and Casa Batlló, where Gaudí transformed legends and natural symbolism into architectural forms. The tour also passes other major examples of Catalan modernism within the famous Quadrat d'Or, including Casa Amatller and Casa Lleó Morera.

The experience continues towards the stunning Palau de la Música Catalana before reaching the historic streets of El Born. Medieval stories, political symbols and artistic references gradually connect past and present while you walk through some of Barcelona’s most characterful neighbourhoods.

As this is a private tour, the pace remains flexible and personalised throughout the experience. By the end of the walk, many of the city’s architectural details will reveal meanings that completely change the way Barcelona is perceived.
