Description
Discover the wild beauty of Madeira’s northwest coast on an unforgettable full-day 4x4 safari with Safari Madeira. Travel in an open-top vehicle along scenic roads, hidden off-road trails, and breathtaking viewpoints while exploring some of the island’s most iconic landscapes.
We begin with hotel pick-up in Funchal before heading to the picturesque Bay of Câmara de Lobos, one of Madeira’s most traditional fishing villages. From there, we visit the famous Cabo Girão Skywalk, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, offering spectacular panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean.
Continuing along the south coast, we stop at the São Sebastião viewpoint in Ribeira Brava before venturing off-road through the rural trails of Canhas, surrounded by forest and authentic countryside scenery.
Crossing the island towards the magical Laurissilva Forest, we arrive at the enchanting Fanal, known for its ancient twisted trees and mystical atmosphere. We then descend towards the north coast, passing through Ribeira da Janela with its dramatic rock formations and stunning ocean views.
In Porto Moniz, there is time to enjoy lunch and, weather permitting, take a refreshing swim in the famous natural volcanic pools.
The adventure continues to Seixal, where you can admire Madeira’s beautiful black sand beach, followed by a stop at the iconic Veu da Noiva viewpoint, home to one of the island’s most photographed waterfalls.
On the return journey, we pass through the charming village of São Vicente and the lush valley of Serra d’Água, completing a day filled with adventure, nature, culture, and unforgettable scenery.

Suitable clothing and comfortable footwear are recommended. Bring a light jacket, as weather conditions in the mountains can change quickly.
During summer, we recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
Swimming in the natural pools of Porto Moniz is optional and weather dependent. Guests who wish to swim should bring swimwear and a towel.
The safari vehicles are open-top, allowing for a more adventurous experience. Please keep arms and personal belongings inside the vehicle while driving normal roads.
This tour is not recommended for pregnant women, guests with severe back or mobility problems, or anyone with medical conditions that may be affected by off-road driving.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult and must use seat belts at all times. Child seats are available upon request.
