Description
Set sail along the southern coast of Madeira aboard the classic schooner Ventura do Mar and enjoy a relaxed journey surrounded by volcanic landscapes, towering cliffs and the open Atlantic Ocean.
The experience begins at Funchal Marina, where the crew will provide an introduction to the route before departure. The boat then sails around three nautical miles off the coast, offering wide panoramic views of Madeira’s shoreline from the sea.
Weather permitting, there will be a swimming stop near Cabo Girão, one of Europe’s highest sea cliffs standing 580 metres above the ocean. During the stop, you can swim in crystal-clear waters or make use of the paddle boarding and snorkelling equipment included on board.
The schooner is equipped with restroom facilities, an onboard bar service and warm coats available on colder days. One drink per person is also included, with options such as water, juice, beer, wine or sangria.
As the boat sails back towards Funchal close to the coastline, the peaceful rhythm of the sea and Madeira’s dramatic scenery turn the journey into one of those moments that stays with you long after the day ends.
