Description
Dive into the protected waters of the Garajau Marine Reserve, one of Madeira’s most renowned diving areas and host of the 2022 European Underwater Photography Championship. This marine environment is known for its biodiversity, clear waters and excellent underwater scenery.
Your experience begins at Azul Diving Center in Funchal, where you will board the boat heading towards different dive sites within the reserve. Across two guided dives, you may encounter groupers, barracudas, moray eels, parrotfish, rays and schools of tuna while exploring volcanic underwater landscapes alongside an experienced dive guide.
The average depth ranges from 15 to 20 metres, with a surface interval scheduled between dives. Depending on sea conditions, the itinerary may include sites such as T-Reef, Blue Hole, Cape Garajau or Sardine Plateau.
The activity includes a 12-litre AIR tank, weights and weight belt. Full rental equipment is available directly at the diving centre if required.
Each descent reveals a different side of Madeira’s Atlantic coast, turning the morning into a memorable underwater journey surrounded by marine life and dramatic volcanic formations.
