Description

Experience the coast of Funchal from the sea on a boat trip that becomes even more special at the end of the day. Sailing at sunset offers a different perspective of the island, as the light slowly changes over the cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean.

After boarding at Funchal Marina and a short safety briefing, the boat will head west following the coastline. As you move away from the harbour, panoramic views of the city of Funchal and the volcanic landscapes that define Madeira begin to unfold.

The route continues towards Cabo Girão, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. From the water, the scale of this impressive natural formation becomes even more striking, with its towering rock walls rising dramatically above the ocean.

During the trip, the boat also pauses in front of the bay of Câmara de Lobos, a charming fishing village known for its colourful houses and as the birthplace of Madeira’s traditional drink, poncha. It is one of the most photographed spots on the island.

The highlight of the experience arrives with the sunset over the Atlantic. When weather conditions allow, the sky fills with golden and orange tones as the boat continues to glide along the coastline. Every sunset offers a different spectacle.

This excursion can also be booked with or without the option of dolphin and whale watching. When making your reservation, simply choose the version that best matches the experience you would like to enjoy during the trip.

After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes at sea, the boat returns to Funchal Marina, bringing the experience to a close after one of the most memorable moments of the day in Madeira.

The boat can also be reserved privately for groups of up to 18 people, making it an ideal option for enjoying the trip with family or friends in complete privacy.
