Description
This excursion takes us to the eastern part of the island. We start with a climb towards Poiso and the first stop will be at Pico do Arieiro (1818m) where we will admire the magnificent landscapes that cover much of the island. The excursion continues to Ribeiro Frio, a place famous for its gardens with endemic plants. From here we will cross São Roque do Faial, one of the most interesting areas of the island due to the great diversity of cultures until we reach Santana – known for the famous typical houses made of straw. Stop for lunch (not included). Return to Funchal passing through Porto da Cruz, Portela and Pico do Facho (spectacular views over Ponta de São Lourenço).
